Dr. Thayer is an agricultural economist with an interest in natural resource, environmental, and rural economics. She uses econometrics, mathematical programming, and simulation to answer research questions that identify relationships and analyze the impact of rules, regulations, and alternative scenarios. She enjoys projects that help producers and communities make decisions and inform policy. Dr. Thayer's current research topics are related to climate change and adaptation, water use and management, renewable energy, and livestock.
